Yes, I agree with you, lately I felt the "character" is the most important aspect of any human being. And when you leave this body, that's essentially the only thing you can carry to next life. You probably have noticed this already, but ain't it so difficult to build up those characters? Selfish "me" has very stiff neck and does not like those heavenly characters... This I learned and know for sure, 1. There is life after death 2. Only my being, character, knowledge, relationship move onto next life. 3. The most important thing in this life is relationship with others, that is loving and caring for others...
