Depends on what you mean by 'violent deaths'. Shootings? Murders?

Also, it has to be the same ratio. 3 combat deaths in a day amongst approx 130,000 troops in Iraq is proportional to 30 in a city of 1.3 million. Don't think there is a murder rate that high in any US city...
