Some rambling thoughts - feel free to ignore....

Interesting to read this thread from the beginning - you linked to one article that actually outlined Clark's positions. However, hardly anyone here has said a word about policy issues.

American politics seems obsessed with "what we can hype?", "what we can bash?", political horse race handicapping and tearing apart each candidate's personal history (like anyone in public life has an unblemished past). Almost all the posts after your opening set are rehashing all that crap.

Apart from some general slogans, no one seems focused on defining an agenda of problems for action and debating each candidate's stance on them. Does Wes Clark advocate the best solutions for America's problems at home and in the world?

No wonder US politics have been trivialized and marketed and soundbited down to inane irrelevance.

FWIW, I would like to see Clark's position papers fleshed out more, but they make more sense than anyone else I have seen in the race so far.
