Palestinian kids need some better idols ( as in movie star) The US has gone thru phases, from woodsman, to hunter, to steamboat captain, to locomotive engineer, to football hero, to airplane pilot, and so on. It would help if they could do better than being honored as a picture on the wall. Arafat has to go. Sitting around in a bathrobe and slippers does not cut a pretty picture. He needs some Western duds, a cowboy hat and boots.Would look a lot better Dont those people have any traditions, music, engineering, ball-room dancing? Young kids do not need to know how big their country is, they need to know the boundaries. Be interesting to know how they treat boundaries, here we knew the location of a county line even if it was in a deep woods. Dogs knew exactly where the property line was and guarded their territory. Palestinians think they own the whole damn country?. They got it wrong and there is a penalty to pay. I'll bet even the Neanderthals knew their territory, stomping ground, and range limits. About the only thing useful accomplished lately over there is building the fence, now make it into something definite- thats the line, thats it, it is permanent, it should be supported by the UN, and anyone lobbing missiles over it gets punished. Leaders who say its not permanent are in effect declaring war and inviting the consequencies. Of course they will be pissed, and have some horrible story to tell their kids " One time we owned the land clear to the sea, until those &*^%^ Jews came and stole it away" Well IMO. , they are all a bunch of squatters- people alive today did not own it, did not make good use of it. Have no "right" to it except what can be agreed to by the leaders and Arafat will not honor any agreement Sig .
