Ms. Nancy Curry of Diamonds North reports
DIAMONDS NORTH RESOURCES LTD.: TARGET GENERATION STARTED ON KIDME Diamonds North Resources and SouthernEra Resources have begun a detailed heli-borne magnetic and electromagnetic (EM) survey over the 90,000-acre Kidme claim block which is located 200 kilometres east of Yellowknife, NWT. The objective of the 2003 geophysical program is to identify targets for a drill program in March, 2004. A recent review of data collected from the property in 1996 has been completed. These data include till samples collected along regional transects across the property plus magnetic and EM data from the northwest corner of the property. Several circular geophysical anomalies identified from the 1996 geophysical data have been verified with ground geophysics in 2003. Two of these anomalies are located under lakes and requires drill testing in March, 2004. Heavy mineral data from the 1996 sampling survey outline four areas on the property with anomalous kimberlite indicator mineral occurrences. One of the anomalous occurrences supports the possibility of a southwest extension of the Kennady Lake kimberlite trend onto the Kidme claims. Currently in prefeasibility, $2-billion to $3-billion in diamonds have been outlined on the Mountain Province/De Beers Kennady Lake property. The second anomalous occurrence is located on the northwest part of the property where the two drill targets have been identified and two other occurrences lie on the eastern portion of the property. The kimberlite indicator mineral anomalies suggest the possibility of multiple kimberlites on the Kidme claims. As part of the 2003 exploration program, geophysical anomalies will be further developed by systematic heavy mineral sampling. This exploration campaign represents the first integrated propertywide program conducted at
Kidme which is strategically located immediately south of Mountain
Province/De Beers Kennady Lake property. Due to an ownership dispute since 1996, virtually no exploration has been conducted on the property. In May, 2003, a federal tribunal awarded the Kidme project to Diamonds North 40 per cent and SouthernEra 60 per cent.
