How does bill clinton helping clark help hillary? Some preliminary thoughts!
1. She would be a shoe-in as vp candidate with clark and could gain more favorable national public opinion even if clark loses.
2. If clark loses she automatically becomes the #1 choice in 2008
3. if clark falters during the primary campaign she could pick up the organizational pieces for a late run in a brokered convention if no candidate emerges prior to the convention.
4. If all clark does is to stop dean and another candidate is chosen, it takes away a rival for her lefty support that could be a rival for two terms. It also makes her a possible veep on a lieberman, kerry or gephardt ticket.
5. If clark wins, there could be a quid quo pro that he will be a one term president and Hilary wouldt take over in 08.
6. If clark serves two terms, she gets the nod in 2012. She will be 65, certainly not over the hill.
