Tsig - hmmm, how to phrase this delicately. I remember a grad school seminar I took on the Middle East where the standard Israel-Palestine debate erupted one day. It occupied the rest of an interminable two-hour session. Afterward I asked the professor (a Lebanese Christian, not that it mattered but she had heard it all before) why she let the argument go on. "I always let them do this once to get it out of their system," she replied. I'm sure that endless back and forth on Israel and Palestine enthralls the circle involved. But it has now overtaken this thread completely with no progress on any side that I can see (granted I am only skimming the many posts now). Perhaps you could start a "Moderate Discussion on Israel and the Palestinians" thread if this debate is likely to go on at this volume level? OTOH, if I am out of place, say so and I will just crank by all the Israel posts. Thanks for allowing my two cents in.
