I don't think I made my point.

Google holds the cards here, not the US investing public. it is the US and local government that want Google to IPO here, but they don't need to. They can get money from any number of private sources, or they can move offshore, or any number of things. We need to come up with a set of principles that make it worthwhile for great companies to stay here. Who is going to go public with more than your entire mkt cap in these kinds of "expenses" (which I am sure the founders of Google don't believe are real operating costs). That is big of the US investing public to want to buy in to Google, as you say. Whatever valuation the Google founders get with billions of expenses on the books is less than they think their company is worth I am sure. Sounds like a firesale and a ripoff of the founders to me.
