I agree with you.
But I had an awful lot of people try to stomp me into the ground because I refused to agree that Saddam was a coward. Untruths are never patriotic, simply because people want to believe them, and ignorance rarely (never?) adds to your defensive or offensive position. I want the best for my country, so I would like it to be as smart and informed a country as it can be- at the moment I feel it has a looooooong way to go.

I have just started reading a fascinating book about Haiti- it is called The Immaculate Invasion (after the history of Haiti is out of the way, it is about the US invasion). It may be one of the best written non-fiction books I have ever read. It reads like poetry- although the details, at least in terms of Haitian history, are truly horrible. Amazingly horrible. Makes the Congo look tame. If you have not read it, you might like to.

If the USA isn't prepared to sort the UN out and do things right, I can only conclude that their intention, as per the accusations, is in fact to steal the oil, take control and be Numero Uno and make the UNO Numero Zero.Which not surprisingly will lead to continued RPG attacks on the PNAC Great American Empire warriors, who treat aliens, gooks and ragheads as second class humans.

Democratizing the UN should be a cakewalk compared to the expensive and disastrous unilateral action program presently being experienced. So, some good will come of this. Unfortunately at the moment, Iran and NK are probably tickled pink in the knowledge that the financial beating being experienced by the US virtually precludes heavy agression on yet another front.
