Sadly Searle, "Following an upgrading of its growth prospects by the fund, the US is expected to expand by 2.6% this year, the fastest of the big seven economies" doesn't make it so...

I can "upgrade" my expectations and "expect" to make a billion dollars next year.... but it ain't going to happen!

Of course the US economy (measured in US dollars) will expand, simply because the dollar will drop faster than the rate of expansion. The real economy can go backwards but while you measure everything in dollars it looks fine. If the units you are using to measure are not fixed then the numbers are meaningless.

Just express the US GDP in ounces of gold and see what the results are!

Searle US has the largest vote 17% it is the also the largest contributor. If Japan Germany and France somehow have an alliance the US would have a problem

Searle i am sitting here thinking and perhaps rule of sword will find it is not as powerful as respect of laws and written words. Japan has seen her finances in total chaos due to currency and the Baht.

Asia is older culture and perhaps is wise she just might heed the words and lessons of Asia.

Germany's Blix was totally disregarded as diplomatic as he was in very tense situation.

China's vote is small but I am sure she saw the plight of Japan and did not want to unpeg.

Blaire, I feel he is just a puppet trying to save his own neck by hook or crook so US has for sure around 22% of vote.

This could actually be a democratic process and not mime the method the UN. These are nations that can loose their bread and butter in a global world. It always hurts the most when your own pocketbook is at stake.
