Lb,
Just now on fox they said all letters supporting hillary candicacy on her website have been removed. Apparently Clark will have a window to define himself in order to get the nomination. If he fails, hilary will then have the chance to decide at that time whether the time is right to enter. If clark does succeed and there is a clark/hillary ticket she will become party leader and a shoe in for 08 if clark loses. If clark wins, she will wait the 8 years. There is a tradeoff in all of this--4 years for 8 years or a shot at this year. She is very smart and I am sure she has weighed all the possibilities.
The alternative was to let dean roll on and if nominated he would need to select a more conservative running mate thus shutting hillary out of veep contention and taking away her leading position for 04. The first imperative was to stop dean. If thats done and even if you have one of the original 9 as president, Hilary would still have the lead in 04. This is very interesting stuff. As of today, i dont think she is running as much as positioning herself for future runs. If Clark fails, the hope is that he still brings down dean. Mike
