Heard on TV today that the exact type voting machines in question in CA are used in several other areas of the country with a 1% or less error in voting.

Does anyone know what type these in CA are (other than punch card) and what company makes them?

It also would be interesting to compare the voting lists and registration lists of the counties in question by the ACLU in CA....How long have these machines been used? And if they are old, were any of the former elections called into question by the same ACLU?

And M~ Yes, Thanks, we had a great time...Quite relaxing and fun!

No one in California is being told that they cannot vote so the equal protection argument is bogus IMO.

I don't believe anyone is making that claim.

Only thing I've picked up on is that the punch cards increase the risk of a ballot being improperly tabulated thereby negating someone's vote -- the problem the Supreme Court previously cited.
