It seems to me that in order to brainwash someone, you would have to prevent them from being exposed to conflicting inputs

I could argue that Brinker does this to the best of his ability by controlling the content of the show. We can all wonder what life would be like if Brinker had more control over the information that we have access to in our daily lives.

But I agree "brainwashing" may be too harsh a term. It's funny though, I don't think that Brinker advertises in any other format than on his program. So his motive, apparently, is to heavily skew the content to his advantage for 6 hours a week. For many people, that's an effective way to get them to do something they might not otherwise do.
