"We" are investors who understand businesses in which we invest for long term gains. The reason companies like Google IPO is not because they need money, it is so that the insiders can exit. The secondary market exists solely for this purpose and IPO is an emergence from the primary market (where the real capital is deployed) to the secondary market (where wealth is transferred). but then why bother with expensing because then even you are admitting options are free. Wow... you sure have the ability to misread stuff that is blatantly clear. That might explain a lot of your views on other things too, come to think about it. Comprehension is a skill, not a right.
