Obviously, I have too much time on my hands for doing the numbers below:
In its last filing on 4/10/03, BMY reported selling 75,960 KDUS shares from 2/19-4/10/03 They also reported still holding 807,040 shares on 4/10/03. So, BMY accounted for 14.32% of the KDUS trading volume for this period.
I tallied up the KDUS trading volume for the 4/11-9/19/03 period. In those 112 trading days, KDUS volume totaled 3,260,600 shares.
Assuming the BMY percentage of volume was the same in those 112 days as it was in the 2/19-4/10/03 period, BMY would have sold 466,918 shares. This would leave them with a current holding of 340,122 KDUS shares.
Further assuming that both KDUS trading volume and the BMY sales rate remains about the same, BMY will sell out of its KDUS in about 80 days.
Consequently, if we're lucky, perhaps die-hard KDUS holders will have something to celebrate Jan. 1, 2004.
(People might want to check my arithmetic as I was pretty sleepy when I did the above.)
