all I want from Bush and Snow is an acknowledgement of the trend, in the open, and some sessions in congress to address it. Then I want some of the visas to be more controlled, which is happening. For example I don't want the H1-B to be cut off, but I would like it to cost more for companies to hire H1's here. So the "best and brightest" claim that companies make is a self fulfilling prophecy which it isn't now. Btw the congress person trying to shut off H1-Bs totally is a republican so this is not a partisan subject. For the L1 visas, this is where the real abuse occurs and we need real changes with those, again this is happening now I believe.

I would like any further tax cuts and reforms to be directed towards payroll taxes and a shift off of the overtax of the worker, it it means more capital gains taxes so be it. Then I want Bush to get the deficit under control and work to float the yuan and rupee, thats pretty much it. Overall, I am in favor of offshoring.

Bush's deficit problems are very closely related to this issue of jobs I feel, and either his lack of understanding of the issue or inability to level with people regarding the situation is a travesty in my view. We need to reign in government spending right away because this is no short term phenom. Things will improve from where they are now for the industries which have been offshored, however.

Gartner made a business out of extravagant predictions.

You can say that again.
