Senator Inouye is confused. He says "as sovereign as any state in the union", when he means the sovereignty of a country, in violation of Article IV. These Indian nations issue is eventually going the way of the dodo bird. These casinos are simply rackets financed by big Las Vegas money, with an indian figurehead. If you look at Indian businesses there's a few rich guys and that's it. If the purpose was to help the Indian culture or people somehow, it's a failure. Some of these reservations have a 50% fetal alcohol syndrome rate. I wonder what the founding fathers would have thought of our arrangements with the Indians.
