Moderates: Kerry, Clark, Lieberman, Edwards, Graham. All more or less moderate. All the tossing around of the word "liberal" makes one think Dem moderates don't even exist. But that's not at all true. basically any Dem who voted for the war resolution is moderate. if they were liberal, they'd have voted against it.

The above senators regularly vote alongside GOP moderates like Snowe and Chaffee, sometimes McCain. There are some differences but not too many. Also, once the primaries are over, the rhetoric will get much more moderate. Primaries force candidates in both parties to play to the base, but once they get into office, they're generally more moderate.

Bush ran as a moderate in 2000 but has turned into a right-wing hardliner who only gives lip service to moderate causes. Probably because Cheney is the one who really runs things.
