Before you jump to increase "funding for education" realize that such a Federal increase goes to funnel money first through the Dept of Educaton wicket who after taking their huge cut for overhead and expenses, trickle down very little to state and local programs. There would be a whole lot more money available at the state and local level if the money went straight from the state and local taxpayers to the schools in their communities rather than through the Federal Dept of Education. Remember nobody in the Dept of Education teaches students directly. All they do is fill Government Jobs and administer Programs and funding and I might add at exorbitant rates. Thats how the system is setup.
