ECNC <--- Two well-known hunters for online stock scams, Anthony Elgindy and a person who goes by the name of Steve Pluvia, posted messages on the Silicon Investor stock-chat board devoted to eConnect last Friday urging investors to sell their shares in the San Pedro, Calif., software company. The two warned that eConnect had issued "false, misleading" press releases that overstated the company's revenue potential. They also alleged that the company had falsely claimed it had entered into a "strategic alliance" with a securities-brokerage firm. Those concerns were echoed by the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday when it temporarily suspended trading in eConnect's shares, which had risen to as high as 21 7/8 last Thursday on the OTC Bulletin Board after trading for only 1 3/8 two weeks earlier
