Kerry got his medals for turning a river gunboat defensive action, which was taking a lot of hit and run casualties (think Iraq now on the Mekong River) into an offensive action where they turned things around and went after the enemy. Kerry's bravery was legend, as whenever he got incoming from the shores, he'd charge instead of retreat, even beach the boat and charge into the trees. That made the enemy think twice about taking pot-shots. It worked. Think APOCALYPSE NOW, same type gunboats. He also killed a guy with an RPG who was about to blow up his boat (with his men in it) and he took three minor wounds.

GIs (Grunts in Iraq) are dying for dishonesty. There is no other way to put it. Dying for dishonesty. truthout.org <<...There are no apparent WMD in Iraq and still the White House urges patience with innuendos that given more time, weapons will be discovered. It has only been six months and who knows what another six months might reveal? The obscenity here is that more time is demanded by a White House that refused to support more time for UN weapons inspectors prior to the onset of death and destruction. What will more time give the American people? Another 310 soldiers killed in action and another 1500 troops wounded and maimed?...>>
