One aspect of the 2003 gold stock rally is that companies have been able to raise money. Some like AGI have done superb underwritings at good levels. I still maintain (sold a chunk at 1.80) a good position in that one even now, as I know mgt and have been through a lot with them. Others like GBU have been disappointing in this regards. When the dust settles on any correction or consolidation in the sector, the companies to return to will be those smartly managed outfits that got nicely cashed up, at non-dilutive prices, and that brought on "permanent holders" as opposed to the "two step crowd". Hopefully when the mania in the sector dies down, some of us can return to a criticial discussion of such factors? In the long run I also still see WHT mgt as very shrewd people, although I'm now out of the stock on a valuation basis. It's also one I'd look to get back into.
