WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden, a one-time Democratic presidential contender, said on Sunday he was inclined to support either his colleague, Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites), or retired Gen. Wesley Clark, who quickly moved to the head of the 2004 Democratic field in a new poll.

* I agree with these two choices. In fact a double Silver Star ticket of Kerry-Clark would guarantee Bush-Cheney's early retirement.

By the time we vote, I don't think my support will matter. If Howard Dean comes back to town,
I would like to hear him speak. When he was here last, the crowds turned out for him in a big
way. I cannot imagine that these same people would turn out for Clark although he might appeal
to those who are retired and a lot older. I thought he was around 70. I was surprised to learn he
was younger. Since Clark was indecisive on the Iraq war, we should call him
The Great Equivocator. One day Clark supported the war. The next day he opposed it.
From day to day, he doesn't seem to know what he is doing.
