If you subtract all of the dead people that voted several times, Gore didn't win the popular vote either. That is why Bush won far more counties than Gore did. Gore just figured he could steal the election. But the Bushies jack-slapped him and sent him packin'!.

I think you should run for governor of California. Your platform should set them up for prosperity. However, you failed to address the illegal problem. You need to get in there real quick though, Gov Davis just signed a new law showing favoritism to butt bangers. I wonder if he will try and close down the churches which speak against butt banging?

Yep and Abrham Lincoln, Wilson, both Roosevelts and Washington by your same measures would also go down in history as our worst presidents. All of these Presidents were involved with U.S. wars and they all have monuments to their courage and guts in the face of cowards with big mouths. You dare to compare Bush to Abraham Lincoln?!! LOL! For the last time, Al Gore did not win the Electoral College Vote! Electoral College voters are not locked in to whoever the people voted for in the same way that activist judges (who you like) are not locked into giving decisions based on what the law actually says! Gore did not win the electoral college due to the questionable legal wrangling of the Bush camp and their fears of putting the FLA count to a revote which should have been automatic given all the voting problems that were exposed during the election........and continue to be exposed three years later. And on the topic of reasonable taxes, people work from Jan until late May every year already in order to pay the tax burden for thousands of "would be nice to have" but unaffordable programs. I can't believe that I have to pay for Govt studies on the flow of ketchep before I buy food, housing and clothes for myself. May tax dollars are scoffed up right at the get go. I wish we had a system whereby people had to write out a tax check after every pay check so they know how much money they are spending. Right! Defense is the biggest example of pork in the federal budget and takes up half of all discretionary spending. The hawks' arguments is specious and filled with holes. They've been selling the same defense song and dance since WW II........enough already with the acute paranoia. The Constitution is very clear on what Tax Money is for. Its basically only for and one of the very few that is actually listed in the text is to Provide for the National Defense. The Constitution is clear as mud when it comes to taxes. As much as you'd like to neuter the Armed Forces and use that money for free drugs for the homeless, or Aids research so that people can safely go back to promiscuous homosexual sex, or whatever these are not the critical functions that Taxes are for. Oh now here comes the disturbed part.........AIDS and the homeless. Are not homeless people and homosexuals Americans? Should we kick these American 'dogs' to the curb? The rest of us are tired of the homophobia, racism, and lack of empathy........its gotten very old now. And you are never going to get rich yourself by taking somebody else money thru taxes. No, the rich get rich by stealing it directly from the people. Isn't that the conservative way? Like Marie Antoinette, they would prefer they "eat cake"! Keep bumping the tax rates up and guess what, you lose your tax base, those productive people go somewhere else or stop working, or fire all their workers because its no longer worth the big risk of investing your own capital to only have much smaller profits taken away by somebody else. Another conservative scare song.........taxes will run the economy into the ground. You've got to know that's not true. The states with the best quality of life and the most desirable cities in this country are high tax states. But then its really not about the economy but rather, its about being too cheap to pay for good gov't and a decent quality of life. Ever hear of the invisible hand, I believe an Adam Smith term. Thats why communist countries have low productivity. There is no incentive to work your ass off to have to stolen by somebody else, and high taxes are nothing more than legalized theft when the money is used for non-critical programs. You should work your ass off because you want to not because you are a slave to the buck!
