I felt the insects crawling on me after the hike. Or to put it another way,I felt a burning sensation.
Then, I looked and saw hundreds of these critters all over me. As soon as I saw them,
I jumped in the tub and scrubbed myself with a small brush. My mom threw my clothes
in the washing machine and loaned me clean ones.
When we got back to our hotel we jumped in the pool and then I took another plunge the
the next day as well. We got rid of the dots after a day. I don't believe
I had any insects on me when I returned to Seattle.

There were chiggers where I grew up so I am surprised my family never mentioned them.
I got chiggers when I was a kid, but it was never as bad as this. Chiggers were
little red critters. When I was a kid, I could identify them.

My uncle also told me that ticks can be as small as dots so we don't really know
what we had. However, on the same day, I found one insect crawling around on me
that was as big as a tick. My husband has not been feeling well so he may have
visit his doctor as well. He has been using my cortisone but he isn't taken
the same prescription antihistamine.

What a hassle!
