<Because the number of times I have sold a good stock , and watched it continue to climb against everthing that makes good sense is to numerous to mention.>

That is why lately I have started taking partial profits after a big run.

I wish I had done this years ago. I sell 30-40% and just park the rest for the IT and LT. I also try not to own anything I do not like for the IT/LT.

3 examples which seem to be working out at least for now are MNG SVl and RDU

It is to me impressive the bearishness which has been exhibited right here on this thread for months while the PMS have continued to move nicely higher.

Not an original thought but I wonder if we are seeing the old phenomenon of the survivors of the late bear early bull market in a sector.

These old wiley* veterans stayed alive and thrived by trading every wiggle during the early transition from the deeply over sold state of the late bear market to the very early bull market.

Supposedly most of these cagy old veterans tend to get left behind as the bull transitions into a powerhouse. They want to keep on trading the wiggles and the bull just leaves them behind.

I have no idea when the next big correction in the HUI will be, but (at least according to the timetables I have seen here) it is way behind schedule.

*The use of this word is a complete coincidence and believe me I have nothing but the utmost respect for all of the old posters here. They all certainly have great track records going back years. I am just thinking out loud here.

It's not just being rational, it's based on my criteria and parameters. If you believe these various markets are in large measure liquidity driven,

sentiment driven, and smart money driven

then you have to take notice, and act. And forget about perfect timing (a trap) in such instances.

Dear Ralfph,

Have you considered MFL as a core holding and a place to park some money?

Best Regards,
