I only hope that we as humans are much more clever now and not let pride and arrogance go in out way and result in the destruction of other peoples lives. The means and leverage in our hands are hundred of times more destructive than they were 60 years ago. It is very easy to solve problems one sided, as Jay suggest, but what would do in this case, the then of thousands of honest hardworking people on both sides of the Atlantic whose jobs were exported / out- sourced ? How would a 45 or 50 year old head of family change professions if he gained expertise in basic industry job which evaporated due to globalization? Be it in a shipyard, machine tool workshop or any other labor intensive job which needs substantial training and expertise? Jay does not offer to those people even a ray of hope, and I wish he should read the more nitty gritty of the depression in the US and Europe, the hardship of the people and how it came about that lawless gangs came to power and enabled such much destruction during W.W.II. I would not like to witness the rise of extreme nationalistic entities as those that rose in Germany, Italy Japan and Russia 60 years ago. May be Jay should revisit what happened to China and it's people and more so Manchuria under the rule of Japanese forces and possible rethink his approach again. I only hope that those million upon millions of lives were not lost in vein. Some concessions to the present needs of the US and Europe from the low cost countries will get us a long way to better lives for all. The world now is interconnected and the political system has not been able to adapt to the dramatic changes that technology and science brought upon us. We are facing realistic problems and dangers like that of cloning humans to which as a society we have no answers and at the same time despots are still in power in North Korea and certain arab socities. Certain Nation still cling to the notion of power and even after integrating into a common market they try to dictate to other nation how to conduct themselves, in hope that what they did not achieved militarily due to their own failure, they may achieve by various elaborate schemes. Well will stop at that
