Does anyone remember that a central banker should never talk anything that gives the market an indication on the direction of the exchage rate of his country?

Now compare that with Snow, not only sending a signal about the direction he wants his country’s currency to go, but forcing other to devalue against his currency!!! Am I the only one seeing this anomaly here? Shouldn’t the market have reacted by sending the USD plunging?

That said, we should look to John Snow’s talk of lowering the dollar as a ‘test of the waters’. A bold test to see how strong the dollar is and that there’s nothing the market can do about it!!! Why? The US can continue to print ‘com gusto’ because there is a lot of suckers –China being the biggest one- buying the printed paper!!
