Laugh it up fruitcake. What the hell do we spend $400 Billion on a military every year for ($10 Trillion in the past 50 years), and we can't even scramble a few planes to defend our nation's capitol on 9/11/01? We have troops all over the globe for all sorts of reasons, but can't defend our own country properly when under attack, something doesn't add up. There are a lot of things about 9/11 that don't add up.

You live in NJ like me. Ever heard of the Green Brook flood control project that has been on the drawing boards for 30 years because of a lack of funds? It would only take about $200 Million to complete and would benefit the central part of our state quite a lot. But, we're spending $150 Billion to destroy and rebuild Iraq, so we can control their oil. Our priorities are all screwed up.

Netscape.com posting about this thread:

"There's a new movie coming out about Howard Hughes. Put on your rubber gloves and go see it. If you don't change your ways--and stop being so paranoid--your life will end in the same, sad way that his did. Atchoo!"

Bushkee buying his friends again....story of his entire life!
U.S. agrees to $8.5 billion loan for Turkey By Corbett B. Daly
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- The Bush administration has agreed to extend up to $8.5
billion in loans to Turkey and to bolster its economy and offset the nation's economic
loss stemming from the war against Iraq, Treasury Secretary John Snow said. "The
purpose of the assistance is to support Turkey's ongoing economic reform process,
and to mitigate the economic impact on Turkey related to Operation Iraqi Freedom,"
Snow said in a written statement from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he is
attending the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Snow said the funds are not dependent on Turkey committing to send troops to aid in
the reconstruction of Iraq. "This assistance package offered by the US to Turkey and
the deployment of Turkish troops in Iraq are two separate issues," Snow said. The
10-year loan, to be disbursed in four equal payments over a period of a year and half,
has a 4-year grace period for principal repayment and $4.25 billion of the loan can be
converted into a grant, Treasury said.
