I'm not saying they are too high or too low, I'm saying that no single entity can be the substitute for market supply and demand forces. A single entity is very likely to get the price wrong. Look at how unpredictable stock prices are. When you use something like Davis Bacon, you are saying the Government is so smart it can set prices and know precisely what the stock price will be tomorrow--its the equivalent of trying to predict stock prices IMO.
