If I'm a union worker, paying taxes, do you think I want my tax money going to some contractor that will be paying scab wages? No way. There will always be a place for scab labor, and scab contractors. But if you think you are getting the same quality of work done with temporary scab labor as you get with union labor then you're nuts. Scabs can't afford a house in the community. They usually don't have families to raise. They can get by on less. But more than that they will have no allegience to the contractor, and the contractor will have none for them. Note that scab labor has high turn over rates, are less skilled and less stable. Union labor has a tradition of quality, training and apprentice systems. Scabs are living in their vans. Do you want to support living wages or scabs with your tax dollars? Orca

that logic only works within the US or maybe, maybe within industrialized countries boundary. Open up the entire world to the "free market" and you have the equivalent of product dumping except with labor.
