Myron - pretty freakin scary...

in the past couple of years boxing has gained in popularity. At this rate, all of the long term fans will abandon the sport in disgust.

Oquendo is a grotesquely sloppy, wild fighter who should stick to boxing instead of trying to slug. Although he derailed Clifford Etienne's career rather definitively, I think his best showing was against David Tua where, although ultimately stopped, he fed Tua jabs with near impunity up until the end.

After that, though, he looked awful against low-ranked Maurice Harris, so I'm not hopeful that Oquendo will fare well against Rahman, either of the Klitschkos, Johnson, McCline, or even the older Holyfield, Tyson, or Lewis. He might do well against Oleg Maskaev or Andrew Golota - two heavies who have had confidence issues at times - but in general, a fighter who knows where they are and why they're there will pound him in between his flailing fits of punching, in my opinion.

Byrd has a style which, while usually effective, is rarely crowd pleasing. The decision probably should have gone to Oquendo, but I admit to having less issue with this one than with the Delahoya-Mosley II crime of last weekend.
