well this would be sweet irony except that we have a bunch of young guys over in Iraq who are nothing more than target practice. What an incredible mess. We are paying turkey for troops apparently... oh I forgot its a loan.

In addition to the Iraqi troop problem, is the funding problem. With the Donor's Conference in just over a month, the US is trying to line up it's "ducks", including the World Bank.

Actually, Pauli Boy has a point. If the US pulls out soon, a catastrophe could result, but the US has neither the troops nor the treasure to stay much longer.

What to do? What to do? I would start by "cleaning house" of proven failures. If they were stupid enough to immerse the US into this Tar Baby, how likely are they to see the best way out?
