I think that both were inappropriate, so I don't think you can call one out and not the other. Kerry seemed to be disturbed by the song, according to the reports. Holding Kerry responsible for what the singer said is like holding Bush responsible for some of the blue notes that come out of the 'New' Dennis Miller.

Back onto the topic of right vs left (the article you posted earlier about 'Why the Left Hates Bush' or something like that): I fear it will get worse as the election grows nearer. I think it is because the issues in this race seem to be much more 'consequential' (if that is a word) than in previous races, so both sides feel more is at stake. I think it will get nasty, both in the campaign, at at the 'grass roots leve'.

I apologize in advance to all those I am about to piss off in the next 14 months, and forgive all who are going to piss the hell out of me... :)
