The real LT problem is that the US has to lead everything-- military political and economic. Asia is saying with their new strong currency position that they are prepared to shoulder part of that burden at least in the economic arena. That will be confirmed if lower interest rates follow in asia. I guess the hope is that the EU will one day get the message as well. Some component nations already know this. The franco-german block is formidable however. The US cant bear the military, and economic burdens alone forever. What was done over the weekend was to give the locomotive a helping hand so it doesnt stall out. mike
