Based on the difference in-first quarter performances, a forecast can be extrapolated, he said. The present forecast is for 5% growth in semiconductor manufacturing equipment revenue in 2003.>

They must be using a "squiggle" factor in coming up with the 5 percent. The actual computation is shown below and equals a 2.6 percent growth.
