some tech CEOs and some CIOs are worse than others. At the corp level Larry is the absolute worst and HP is pretty bad too.

For CIOs, some of these guys are secretly pissed at how much technical talent cost in the bubble and are working off their frustrations by overoffshoring.

Here's an article from CIO magazine, check it out
comment.cio.com
This AT Kearney VP commented at the bottom of the article that CIO mag is actually biased against offshoring! LOLOL. Actually this is a fairly accurate article imho.

I know you work in the tech business and I think you should stick it out for one more year. Don't change careers, because I think we will reach an equilibrium in IT in 04. There will still be offshoring but not like this. A lot of people don't remember that companies tried to outsource (not offshore) IT in the early 90s and it didn't work due to customer proximity issues. In 04 the visas will be shut off and remote communication will only go so far. So many people will have left the industry that salaries will be good again. That is my prediction anyway. Stupid companies like Oracle and the rinky dink startup that is profiled in that CIO article will suffer for lack of local presence.

You seem to have a problem with successful companies. Have you been left out?
