Mephisto, Re: Did you see the William Safire column today? I just got a chance to read that. Safire may be fairly close to the truth. The Clintons aren't about to anoint the mantle of party hero on Clark without extracting something for the effort. I don't know how alientated Howard Dean is from Terry McAuliffe. But I've been hoping for McAuliffe's departure for a long time now. Re: Clark raises a lot of money, Hillary Clinton is also a formidable fundraiser. She's doing so now and donating to other Conressional candidates. This is exactly the technique that Lyndon Johnson mastered in order to perfect his control of others in government. Hillary certainly understands power politics. And when she's a bit less than 100%, Bill steps into the fray. :)
