This report is hard to believe, but who knows?

CIA Offers Negotiations With Taliban; Conditions Required By Mullah Omar
Sep 22, 2003
By Zafir Jamaal, JUS

The CIA has asked the Taliban to come to the negotiations table after realizing that the attacks carried out by the Taliban Mujahideen are not going away and that they are the only force that can effectively end the rule of warlords in the country. The Taliban have demanded that the Americans release all prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay and officially recognize the negotiations to the public.

According to a report by Time magazine, the CIA has offered to discuss ways to end the conflict so peace can be established in the region. The offer was made to a Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Razzaq. After consulting with Taliban leader and Commander of the Faithful Mullah Mohammad Omar, Mullah Abdul Razzaq replied that there were three preconditions, which are:

•that America release all prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay

•that America stop referring to the Taliban a “militia” or “terrorist” and recognize them as a legitimate group

•declare publicly that the CIA has offered peace to them

The CIA has not given any reply to these conditions as of yet. There have been reports that many Afghan officials also want the Taliban to make peace with the Karzai government so that the rule of warlords which is devastating for the local population can end and security can be restored to the public, which currently does not exist.
