Ditto.. I had the same experience and switched to Zone Alarm. But I pay for the Zone Alarm because I think it's well deserved. :)

Zone Alarm is an excellent firewall, but it is not a good virus detector. I use Norton Antivirus for virus detection, Zone Alarm as a firewall and port protection, and Ada-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy for spyware elimination.

Over the last couple of months, when the worms were crawling, Norton caught about a half dozen of those creatures in my email. Norton detects and destroys them before you open your mail.

All three groups (Firewall, Antivirus, Spyware detector) have different purposes. Norton AV detects viri, worms, and trojan horses. Zone Alarm Firewall keeps out Hackers and can detect Trojan Horses messing around within your system. Ada-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy find all the spyware in your system--and if you have never cleaned it, I bet there are many spies in there calling home.

For comprehensive security and protection, you need to have all three groups on your computer and up to date.
