A problem with that is that our borders are too large, commerce is too fast-flowing, and -- most importantly -- our love of freedom prevents the restrictions that would be necessary -- to guard every airplane, every package, every port, every road and trail, every container on a container ship that comes into San Francisco Bay under the Golden Gate and into port, potentially carrying a nuclear bomb, a vial of Anthrax, or cannister of ricin.

And don't kid yourself about a centralized database for the INS, CIA, and other government agencies. California and other state governments repeatedly have refused to inform federal officials of illegal immigrants and immigration violations, so the data won't ever make it to a federal database at all. Instead, they offer drivers licenses and other documentation so the illegals can work and register to vote -- democratic, of course. Gray Davis looks to be pulling strings as we speak to pick up a couple more votes in October.

With that program in place, whose interests do the democrats really have at heart? Their own. If an illegal immigrant in California blows up Disneyland, the dems will blame it on Bush.

Btw, bin Laden propped up the Taliban, and while their identities might not be interchangeable, they're co-conspirators.
