Interest Rate deals.
in response to this post from someone here:

I just took up an offer to borrow 50K from one of my credit cards interest free for 6 months. I'm putting it in a Money Market account and getting 2% on it. Why not?

Someone on my board did this.

You guys are behind the curve on this deal. :-)

On the bond board we often discuss 1 year interest free offers. What you do is this:

Get an offer for 10k at 0% for 1 year (or more).

Buy $10k worth of I bonds at treasurydirect.gov with a card that earns points, cash back or miles.

The I Bonds will eanr 4.66% for 1 year, less the 3 month interest peanalty for cashing it in after only 1 year, that yields 3.5%.

Pay off the balance on the miles card with the 0% offer.

After 1 year, cash in the bonds and pay off the card.
