With the decapitation of its leadership and its monies drying up, Hamas seems to be wilting under the heat. US applied the same combo to al-qaeda with very good success so far. Imo, the perfect recipe for taking down every terrorist orginization out there...

Hamas: On the Ropes -- or Destroyed?

Summary
The Palestinian militant group Hamas is under siege and might face extinction. For the group, it is critical to continue to demonstrate its ability to carry out attacks against Israel if it hopes to maintain its financial and political support base.

Analysis
Israel announced Sept. 23 that it would allow 11,000 Palestinian laborers into Israel in stages in the coming week. The decision is a sign of Israel's growing confidence that it has dismantled the militant networks responsible for suicide bombing in Israel. The chief group among these is Hamas, whose leaders Israel has targeted in an assassination campaign intended to destroy the group.

The state of Hamas is critical. Its leaders have gone into hiding, are not using electronic means of communication and seemingly have lost the ability to direct suicide bombings. The outstanding question is: Is this disruption permanent? A lack of activity in the next few days and weeks will indicate that the group is -- if not completely dead -- in the throes of final agony. For Hamas to prove that it still can operate, the next logical step is to embark on a use-it-or-lose-it strategy of deploying attackers.
