how can i catch on to my own assertion?

I'm no longer certain you are capable of catching on to much that requires logical thought.

your assertion was wrt all the jobs that were created.

No, my assertion was that the BLS publishes two sets of numbers, one based on a survey of establishments and the other based on a survey of households, that are in direct conflict as to the jobs situation. This conflict causes a rational person to question BOTH and to look for other evidence to determine which one is likely closer to the truth. Other economic data and the market's behavior lead me to think that the non-farm payrolls numbers you and others keep harping on are wrong and that actual job growth is, at worst, fairly flat. That's not something the headline writers and alarmist commentators and pols would like to consider and you seem to be following their lead.

you said about 550k jobs were created

No, I said that BLS data shows 575k more people have jobs since year end.

payroll jobs were down 1.2 million.

Where'd you get that number? Make it up? Since year end (the period I've been consistently discussing), the establishment survey shows 437k jobs lost on a seasonally adjusted basis.

Not seasonally adjusted, BTW, payrolls dropped sharply in January from their typical holiday peak in December and have risen since by 1.2 million, though preliminary July and August data show them falling off from their June peak.

See for yourself: data.bls.gov

that means about 1.75 million people now own new businesses, right?

Your logic is astounding.
