My eldest girl was 10 in June, she's about 5'3" and starting to fill out. So I definitely hear you about the 'ick' factor. If one more person tells me she should be modelling, I'm gonna start buying her burlap to sew. Scares me to death.

We're in similar positions -- my second, also a girl, turned 8 in May, and I have a boy, 5. According to the girls he qualifies more as "annoying" than "icky", and is considered slightly less vile than the boys in their respective classes, so they really must love him.

Ditto on Sofa's comment :o)
he ultimate in comedy will help maintain the "ick factor" for a while. Well we can hope..

Here I have the problem of all my daughter's friends (she'll be 11 next month) going to dances already and yes she's pretty and starting to fill out now but still thinks guys are icky. She got into trouble last year for decking one at school that wouldn't stop stealing stuff from her desk. (Yes she went through proper channels first). She's still in 'icky' mode for a while thankfully..
My little guy is really cute too but he's just 4 so he's a chick magnet for daddy ;o) OTOH he's got a real bad temper when he's tired.. On vacation this summer I kept telling him not to be a PITA (think about it)... of course he proudly revealed the meaning of the acronym to the check-in clerk at the Holiday Inn in Fredericton... well that got a laugh..

regards
Kastel

I'm planning to move out to the country too within a few years. Mortgage done in under two.
