Let's name names...who on the Right do you consider top drawer? Oh, people you hate, of course. I think David Brooks is going to turn into the best in the country. Will and Safire can still occasionally hit a homer, but they are getting old and strike out a lot. Mark Steyn would be the best except he turns out three or four a week now and is "hit or miss" because of it. Sullivan can do well on occasion. The writers at "National Review" are better than the "Weekly Standard" if you look at them as benchfuls. To keep up good quality, I think two columns a week is the max. I like Ledeen and Hanson very much. I am just covering people who write at least once a week.
