Thanks Brian for that concise post. One question? I always thought Peter and James were the Two Witnesses as they were well known as stewards of the Church of Jerusalem.

Paul's last letter to Timothy quite plainly sounded like he expected a very soon death at the hands of the Romans who had incarcerated him.

LOL! If yours is a concise post, then I'm the pope.

Try and stay on topic and leave the page length asides for other posts would you?

"Jesus said these things IN CONTEXT when He taught that he would return before all of the apostles had died physically."

You ASSERT that Brian - but you do not PROVE it.

The text; (remember the text?) says some not all, and it does not say before He returned, it says they would see the Christ "coming in His kingdom"

In fact you are connecting the return of Christ (an eschatological event) with "seeing" a manifestation of the kingdom. IN CONTEXTThe next verse (there are no chapter divisions in the original text) reveals how this was accomplished. That, coupled with the post resurrection appearances of Christ are a sufficient explanation of the text. Judas was one of those standing there, and he died before the resurrection. Angels accompanied Christ at His Ascension. Your view fails to explain the universal nature of judgement that will happen at the return of Christ to both Jew and Gentile alike. Did that happen? No! Every man will be judged not just the nation of Israel. It even fails in that all Israel was not judged. What about the pagan Romans who were the instruments of God's wrath poured out on Jerusalem, they went merrily on their way. No judgement there.

Finally;

RE>>Did the Apostles taste death after they saw the kingdom of God? <<
NO - they were changed in the twinklingof an eye and caught up into that Holy Cloud to be with the Lord forever more
RE>>So then do you think there is death in the Kingdom?<<

"Those who are in the kingdom NEVER DIE as Jesus taught although they may experience physical death - the kingdom is not about the physical..."

So they were caught up but they stayed here??? Not bothering to mention the fact that they had been caught up, and the resurrection of the dead in Christ had taken place?

Ya right!

Where is the historical evidence Brian?
I'm still waiting.......................?

Yours is a dualistic view of the world that is very similar to Gnosticism. Matter is evil, spirit is good. The fact is, the resurrection of Christ's body, demonstrates that God is concerned with both body and soul.

In Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead BODILY
