it just seems as though with all the arm chair generals (and ex-presidents) during time of war second-guessing those who are now in the throes of making decisions that will effect the destiny of lives and lands in the pursuit of lasting peace and freedom the occasional "dissing of the dissers" seems appropriate...

it is difficult to imagine the cause greater than securing peace and tranquility at home and liberty to those who were oppressed abroad, and should those endeavors intersect, how much more compelling and rare.

my heart (and admiration) goes out to those leaders who must stand fast against the chorus of naysayers and fingerpointers once the battle is enjoined.

there are times when it is as it has been said, "losing is not an option",

this is one of those times

.....what did margaret thatcher say to george the elder during gulf war I?

"``Remember, George,'' ``this is no time to go wobbly.".....

it bears repeating

fortunately, i get the feeling that 43 is taking those words to heart, especially after hearing his speech today

"The characteristic of a genuine heroism is its persistency. All men have wandering impulses, fits and starts of generosity. But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself, and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be common, nor the common heroic."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
