I always fondly remember Munich. Was in Africa then. When in Munich, on my short vacation or business trips, Saturday morning going to the Saturn-Hansa to buy stuff walking the street overlooking the Wiesen.

Also remember, Madleine and Pia but these are other stories...

OT - I had twice the chance to be during October Fest in Germany, remember traveling by train from Munich to Frankfurt (I think) it was quite a scene at each train station, (even that it was an express) each train station had it's own brass band etc.

Some history -- first time I traveled to Germany, I think about 30 years ago a sales representative took me out to lunch and as usual asked me what "kind of beer I will drink" (not if I want a beer <G>), I responded "nein danke" he was all surprised and apologized asking "vieleich ein schnaps" I answered I would like some orange juice (as I was getting dizzy from on bottle of beer) his was taken aback unable to understand.

Next time I started training myself to drink beers with "ein bratwurstchen" before every trip to Germany and my hosts were just happy.
