As the years go by, and the public sees no end in sight, it will get harder and harder to do

this is why it is imperative that the peace is "won" in iraq, and why we should not be squabbling over 87 billion in reconstruction costs.

we are living in a new era where asymmetrical terrorist attacks can wreak untold devastation ($$$ costs of which could be inestimable)

the more we can disperse the terrorist networks, drive them further into their caves (or in the case of iraq drawing them in for elimination, "bring 'em on")i believe the war "of attrition" on our side...

and your point is well taken about fighting the anti-war crowd at home...

we have to be realistic in understanding that terrorist infrastructure didn't appear suddenly and it won't be dismantled in a matter of months, the american people have to understand and accept this.

preserving life and liberty will not come on the cheap, either in capital or lives

and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, we cannot let those sacrifices be in vain

look at the price we paid already for the complacency that followed the first WTC attack

what higher priority can we have as a nation than preserving our freedom?

that said, it is simply human nature to be unable to maintain a hyper-vigilant state, the terrorists know and understand this....i believe that is why they are so patient in planning their attacks...and that is why we must take a preemptive stance, imo

doing all we can do de-stabilize their network, funding, and physical havens such as afghanistan and iraq, wherever they go
